Visiting
Teaching Message for December:
One of the
greatest gifts we can give as a visiting teacher is compassionate service. Pray
for each sister to seek inspiration to know
each sister and her family. Be there for
your sisters. Sister Linda K. Burton
states, “To help us better love one another, I would like to suggest four
words: ‘First observe, then serve.’ We
are all invited to follow Jesus’s teachings and to minister to others.”

2013 Visiting Teaching spotlight:
Share a
message with the sister(s) you visit teach.
Teach from the monthly visiting teaching message in the Ensign and the
scriptures. Take the monthly Relief
Society newsletter to your sister(s) which has the monthly Ensign visiting
teaching message along with other ward information. Sister Julie Beck states, “We learn what He would have us learn, we do what He would have us do, and we become what He would have us become.”Visiting Teaching Spotlight for October 2013:
Make visiting teaching a monthly priority. Our sisters will
know we love and care about them. Set a
date with your visiting teaching companion early
each month, so the month won’t quickly pass without a visit. “When a personal visit is not possible, use phone calls [texts],
letters [cards], e-mail, or other means to watch over and strengthen sisters.”
(Church Handbook, 9.5.1)

Visiting
Teaching Spotlight for September 2013:
Effective
visiting teaching begins with prayer.
Pray for yourself, your visiting teaching companion, and for the
sister(s) you visit. Do this daily. Ask our Heavenly Father for His help in
reaching each sister who is visit taught.
“They
[visiting teachers] seek personal inspiration (revelation) to know how to
respond to the spiritual and temporal needs of each sister they are
assigned to visit.” Church Handbook
